Germany 2025 24'
A Palestinian family copes with the loss of 22-year-old Omar, shot by the Israeli military. The film follows his brother Mohammad, sister Rama, and mother Nareman in a refugee camp near Bethlehem. Rama clings to memories, while Mohammad confides in a friend. They struggle with their will to live, and their mother sees Omar as a martyr. This documentary highlights humanity amidst political conflict.

Jonathan Brunner, Laura Hornberger
Laura Hornberger is a filmmaker and journalist. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism. Building on this, she continued her education at the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, studying directing non-fictional films. Jonathan Brunner is a director of documentaries, studying Documentary film directing at Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg. With his documentary Border Conversations’ he won Best German Short at DOK Leipzig 2022, the Student Award at Dok.fest Munich 2023 and the CIVIS Young C. Award 2023.
