The festival has launched the registration process for short films for its 54th edition. This marks the beginning of a journey that can lead selected works from the three competitions (International, Ibero-American, and Documentary) to the Hollywood red carpet. The Danzante Award, the festival’s highest honor, is one of only six in Spain that qualify a film for the Oscars.
Filmmakers can view the regulations on the official website and complete the process via the Festhome platform. The registration fee is €3 per short film (excluding platform service fees). This fee covers administrative costs and encourages creators to value their work and the platform where it is presented. The festival accounts for specific regional hardships, including exceptions for countries in conflict or those with restricted access to online payments.
The theater audience will continue to play a key role, as their votes determine the “Audience Award” sponsored by Aragón TV. This award includes €900 for non-exclusive broadcasting rights on the public network and can be awarded to any work selected for competition.
