The organization has confirmed that the 54th edition of the Huesca International Film Festival will take place from June 5 to 13, 2026. As the longest-running film festival in Aragon and the oldest in Spain dedicated exclusively to short films, the event now secures its spot on the upcoming season’s calendar—essential for filmmakers and industry professionals planning ahead. The festival, which awards more than €25,000 in prizes, is renowned for its Danzante Awards in three categories: International, Ibero-American, and Documentary. These awards are officially recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, making them a potential gateway to Hollywood. “As soon as one edition ends, we’re already thinking about the next. Announcing the dates is crucial for setting goals internally and for directors already working on their films,” said Rasal.
The Huesca International Film Festival is supported by main sponsors: Ministry of Culture, Government of Aragon, Huesca Provincial Council, Huesca City Council, and Fundación Anselmo Pie; other sponsors include Tu Provincia Huesca la Magia, Hoya de Huesca Region, and Renfe; with collaboration from Fundación La Caixa and the support of Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) through its Program for the Internationalization of Spanish Culture (PICE).
