The 53rd edition of the Huesca International Film Festival confirms the dates of its 2025 celebration. The event, a mainstay in Aragonese cinema, will take place from June 6 to 14 next year. These dates are crucial for filmmakers and industry professionals who view the festival in Huesca as a key venue for their short films. The countdown has begun for them to complete production schedules and qualify for the official selection of the festival, one of the six in Spain that pre-select for the Oscars and also endorsed by the Goyas.
With more than half a century of history and strong national and international roots, nearly 2,000 works from five continents aim each year to win one of the three Danzante Awards, distributing a total prize pool exceeding €25,000. “The steering committee is already working on the challenge of creating a program worthy of the festival’s prestige. In recent years, we have opened various development avenues with invited countries and collaborations with other entities that we would like to consolidate and expand,” confirms Estela Rasal.
