VÍCTOR IZQUIERDO

(Zaragoza, 1993). A graduate in Labour Relations and Human Resources, he trained in production, screenwriting, post-production and documentary filmmaking at the EICTV (Cuba). In 2016 he founded the production company Barbecho Productions.
He made his fiction debut with the short film El Libro (2022). In 2023, on the occasion of the 275th anniversary of Francisco de Goya’s birth, the Government of Aragon commissioned him to make the animated short film El niño que retrató monstruos (2023). In 2024 he released El nuevo barrio (2024). The project received the Santa Isabel de Aragón 2023 Audiovisual Screenplay Award and won 7 Simón Awards, including Best Short Film and Best Direction.
As a producer, he has championed titles such as Renacuajos (2024) and Quemarlo todo (dir. Miguel Casanova). In 2025 he won the EIMA Film Marathon at the Medina del Campo Festival with 3%, participated as assistant director on the documentary La maleta de Álex (dir. Alejandro Cortés), and directed his most recent fiction work, the historical comedy En trámite (2026).
He has served on juries and selection committees, and together with actress Laura Contreras he runs MovieCamp in Sos del Rey Católico, a pioneering initiative in Aragon for audiovisual training of young people aged 11 to 16.
