LLUÍS MIÑARRO

Born in Barcelona, Lluís Miñarro has produced more than 40 films of remarkable originality, earning 140 awards at the world’s most prestigious international festivals, including the Palme d’Or at Cannes, the Crystal Globe at Karlovy Vary, and the Tiger Award at Rotterdam, all in 2010.
As a director, he has helmed Familystrip (2009) and Blow Horn (2009), as well as the fiction features Stella Cadente (2014), Love Me Not (2019), and Emergency Exit (2025).
Since 1989, through his production company Eddie Saeta, he has collaborated with acclaimed directors such as Manoel de Oliveira, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Naomi Kawase, Albert Serra, Lisandro Alonso, José Luis Guerín, and Marc Recha. He is also noted for his support of emerging filmmakers.
He has served on juries at festivals including Locarno, San Sebastián, Buenos Aires, Munich, Karlovy Vary, and Nara. His work has been exhibited in art galleries and museums such as MoMA, Tate Modern, the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, and film archives in Mexico, Tangier, and Lausanne, among others. In 2010, he received the Ciudad de Barcelona Award for his commitment to the arts.
