LAURA SIPÁN
Bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Communication (UAB) and diploma in Cinematography Direction (ECAM). She studied Advanced Screenwriting and Documentary at the Cuban Film School (EICTV) and in Spain with the Chilean Patricio Guzmán. She has worked in direction and camera in fiction, television, and social documentaries, exploring a more personal perspective. Her works have been featured on Netflix, Amazon, TVE, Aragón TV, and in cinemas. She was nominated for Best Cinematography at the 2024 César Awards (France) and for Best Documentary Short at Camerimage 2017 (Poland), the mecca of cinematography. She worked as a script supervisor for Las niñas and still photographer for La maternal (Pilar Palomero), and as advisor and scriptwriter for national and international documentaries: Nuestro monte luna, nominated for Best Canadian Doc at Hot Docs 2015; Video Blues, premiered at the Gijón Festival 2019, awarded the Silver Biznaga at Mujeres a Escena 2021; Sirian Wounds (work in progress). She received a European grant at ESoDoc 2015, participated in a social cinema mentoring program in Norway and Italy, won the Rural Entrepreneurship Award 2020, and was selected for COOFILM 2021.
