Gerard Oms

Trained at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona and the Parnassos School in Utrecht (Netherlands), he began his film career with Isabel Coixet. He is a regular collaborator of director Neus Ballús and has worked as an acting coach for actors such as Mario Casas, Ana Wagener, Alberto Ammann, and Bárbara Lennie.
Inefable was his first short film as director and screenwriter. Following its premiere at D’A 2021, it was selected for prestigious festivals including the Guadalajara International Film Festival (Mexico). It won the first prize at the Huesca International Film Festival. The magazine Caimán Ediciones included it among one of the best Spanish short films of 2021.
In 2020, he began developing his first feature film, Muy lejos, which was selected by the ICAA as one of the 10 Spanish projects in development at the Marché du Film in Cannes.
The film was shot in the Netherlands in 2023 and premiered in the Official Competition Section of the Málaga Film Festival 2025, winning two Silver Biznagas: Best Actor for Mario Casas and the Critics’ Jury Award.
