Carla Nieto

Carla Nieto was born in Sant Gregori, a small town in Girona. Deeply influenced by her parents, passionate about theater, literature, and the arts, she discovered her vocation early and began training at El Galliner Theater School in Girona.
At the age of 17, she moved to Barcelona, where she earned her diploma from the Col·legi de Teatre. She began working professionally in commercials and small roles on Catalan television. At 21, she relocated to Madrid and appeared in the film Las trece rosas, directed by *Emilio Martínez Lázaro. This marked a turning point in her career, leading to leading roles in TV series such as La Via Augusta (TV3).
Her breakthrough on national television came with El Síndrome de Ulises and Acusados, both successful productions that showcased her range and talent.
She played María de Vega, sister of Lope de Vega, in the feature film Lope by Andrucha Waddington, and later starred in the hit series Ángel o demonio, which marked the beginning of her international career.
She went on to work in Mexico, starring in series such as Las trece esposas de Wilson Fernández, and in Chile, where she appeared in Los Robinones. She collaborated with renowned filmmakers such as Alejandro Lubeski and Julio Hernández Cordón on films like Si yo fuera tú and El día es largo y oscuro.
She starred in La Fortaleza (The Fortress), directed by Chiqui Carabante, alongside Fernando Tejero and Goya Toledo, winning Best Actress at the Zamora Film Festival.
Recently, she premiered the short film Las piedras de Luna (The Moon Stones), directed by Patricia de Luna, as well as the feature film El día es largo y oscuro and the series El barrio inglés (The English Neighborhood).
Her upcoming release is Siempre es invierno (It’s Always Winter), directed by David Trueba, where she stars alongside Amaia Salamanca and David Verdaguer.
