Ángeles Hernández is a producer, director, and screenwriter. As a producer she has been involved in internationally recognized films such as La Virgen de la Tosquera (Sundance 2025), A Brief Story of the Green Planet (Teddy Award at the Berlinale 2019), The Platform, awarded at Toronto and Sitges, and The Consequences, honored at Málaga and Guadalajara. She has also produced titles such as Los amantes astronautas, La canción pop, and Tiempos futuros, which have screened at festivals including Locarno, San Sebastián, and Raindance.
In animation, she stands out as creator and producer of Hanna and the Monsters, nominated for the Goya, Gaudí, and Quirino Awards, as well as its follow-up Hanna and the Forgotten Christmas. She has also produced Dalia and the Red Book.
As a director and screenwriter, she co-directed alongside David Matamoros the feature film Isaac, selected for festivals including Málaga, Guadalajara, and D’A. She subsequently directed Faro and El rastro del lobo, which premiered at Fantaspoa and the Marché du Film in Cannes. She is currently developing new fiction and animation projects.
