YAKIN

Two women from different social classes cross paths in front of a supermarket that is about to close and find themselves having to shop together under the shadow of the economic crisis. Burdened with mutual prejudices and anxieties, the short but tense time they share breaks through invisible walls, revealing an unexpected closeness. What begins as an ordinary encounter becomes a quiet yet profound confrontation for both.

Buse Halacoglu

Buse Halacoglu was born in Turkey. She obtained her BA degree in Political Science and International Relations from Bogazici University in 2013. During university years, she attended workshops and classes on filmmaking. As the Night leaves is her first professional short film (2017). Her 2022 short film Me and the Other was awarded the Audience Award at the Balkans Beyond Borders Short Film Festival. She earned her master’s degree at Kadir Has University Cinema and Television Program in 2023. She has worked professionally on numerous commercials, feature films, and digital platform projects to date.
