Japan 2023 39' Documentary Debut
In a Gurung village in the foothills of the Himalayas in Nepal there is a custom that marriage is decided by parents. One day, a marriage proposal comes to an 18-year-old girl. She asks her mother to go to Kathmandu for the first time with her sister. The mother is reluctant, but finally gives them permission. Months pass after the journey, and it comes the day before the wedding. The village celebrates a feast, but the girl decides to escape before morning comes to live her own life.

Keii Morino
Japanese director based in Tokyo. His experience as a backpacker around the world made him aspire to create visual human culture expressions that transcend language barriers. In 2022, he shoots a documentary film in Nepal even though he cannot speak Nepali, and continues to deepen his relationship with the mountain village he visited after the 2015 Nepal earthquake. Currently he is working in several commercial projects in the Japan industry and studying the means of expression.
