Sweden – Denmark 2023 28' Fiction Debut
A young child, Malik (14), feels like a foreigner in Sweden after their family has fled there from Iraq. When Saddam Hussein is captured by the American military, the family decides to move back to Iraq, which makes Malik thrilled because now he can finally feel at home. But shortly upon arriving Malik starts experiencing the same feeling of foreignness as he did in Sweden.
Jahfar Muataz
Jahfar is born in Baghdad and moved to Copenhagen as a young boy. He is interested in the the psychological part of the human. Stories that are forgotten and that people doesn’t dare to tell. For Jahfar film is about how the story is told, how you put together different scenes that creates a moment for the audience to relate to.
