13-year-old Sasha lives in a boarding school for children deprived of parental care. He is one of the luckiest: a family have finally agreed to adopt him. Today he will move to America forever but there’s something that won’t let him go.
Olha Zhurba
Graduated from the I. Karpenko-Kary National University of Theatre, Film and Television in Kyiv. She then worked as a creator and editor of movie trailers for major Ukrainian TV channels. In 2013, she moved into the field of production and shot several commercials, one of which was awarded at international festivals. Dad’s Sneakers (2021) is her first short film, and she has won the award for best European film at the Leuven International Short Film Festival. Her first documentary feature film, Outside, will premiere at CPH:DOX in 2022.
