He is from Torre del Bierzo, where he inherits the name “El Chispas”, working in the family workshop. She is a city girl who avoids the summers in her village, Sueros de Cepeda. In a hot summer they bathe together in the swamp. Everything changes.

Julu Martínez

Julu Martínez (Torre del Bierzo, 1996) holds a degree in Bilingual Audiovisual Communication from UC3M and works as a director, screenwriter and art director. Their work has been awarded and screened at institutions such as MACBA, the Joan Miró Foundation and the Valencia Film Archive. After participating in several labs, they premiered Mapa de la geografía emocional at FICX and LesGaiCineMad, winning Best Screenplay at Skyline Benidorm. In 2021, Cinema Jove U22 dedicated a solo retrospective to them, and in 2023 they received the Semilleru Kids Award at FICX for ¿Dónde están los ladrones?, his debut feature.
