LA DIVA, MI ABUELA Y YO

Inés and her grandmother Esperanza have always had a special relationship. While they talk, the grandmother hums songs from her youth and with one of them, “Batallón de Modistillas”, she opens the box of her memories and her granddaughter’s imagination. The music becomes the perfect pretext for a journey through time full of wonderful characters, free women, dreams without limits and unforgettable melodies.

Inés G. Aparicio

Inés G. Aparicio (Asturias, 1990) interweaves memory, anthropology and human rights in her work. She has a special bond with the Saharawi population; her first feature film was Leyuad. A Journey to the Well of Ddreams, later she taught at the Abidin Kaid Saleh Film School, which led her to participate in numerous film shootings. In 2021 she awakened her interest in animation and started her first solo direction with the short film The Diva, My Grandma and I.
