A Boy Like Me is Mario’s conversation with his childhood, his adolescence, and his process of transformation. It is the portrait of someone looking at himself through the eyes of the past. Through old family tapes, Mario reconnects with the child who once felt misunderstood, lost, and rejected, and whom he now embraces from a more lucid present.

Ana Moraleda Torres

Born in Albacete, she grew up between Albacete and Tomelloso. A Boy like Me is her first approach to filmmaking as a director, an intimate gesture that arises from love and the need to understand. In her work, she seek to create spaces for listening, to dwell on the small, and to gently approach what sometimes cannot be put into words. In 2026, Para que no me olvides, a piece born from this same universe, received the award for Best Documentary Short Film at Notodofilmfest.
