Inés works as a seamstress in a sweatshop where pregnancy tests are periodically administered. When she becomes pregnant, she is sure that her condition will get her fired. She does everything she can to keep it a secret.

Selma Cervantes

Selma is an up-and-coming director whose films advocate human and social perspectives and female narratives. She became a member of the Mexican Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences after receiving a nomination for Best Short Film for her project Manchester Acatitla. In 2023, her second short film, Sweatshop Girl, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. The script was awarded a public grant for short films with the subject of labor rights thus making its shooting possible.
