La Cañada, Europe’s largest slum on the outskirts of Madrid, has been without electricity for over a year. In the firelight, among Roma legends of a possible future, Toni, a 13-year-old boy, discovers that his best friend Nasser is leaving forever.

Guillermo García López

Guillermo is a filmmaker born in Madrid (Spain). His first work, Frágil Equilibrio, won the Goya Award for Best Documentary Feature after its world premiere at IDFA and also received the Doc España award at SEMINCI, in addition to many other awards and selections. His short film Aunque es de Noche (2023) was nominated for the Palme d’Or at the Festival de Cannes and was also selected at many other film festivals. He is currently preparing his feature film Ciudad sin Sueño. In 2020, Guillermo received the prestigious Princess of Girona Award for Arts and Literature.
