Huesca International Film Festival has announced the regulations of its 45th edition and short films aiming to be part of the Official Section must be entered before Thrusday, March 2nd via the online platform Festhome. Last year a total of 1724 works were submitted and the organization expects to receive a similar number, ‘in recent years we have managed to stabilize the total amount of entries, which is becoming unworkable, so we can shortlist a selection within quality standards’ declares Garanto.
The submission fee is €2, the same amount requested by the platform as administrative costs and expenses, a token fee that –according to the festival organizers- makes the artists assess their work as much as the framework in which it is presented. ‘In any case, we are aware of the worldwide convening power of the festival and that is why we pay close attention to special cases’ added the director. The regulations clarify that no artist shall be excluded, since those entrants with problematic online submission due to geographical location and/or conflicts in their countries, can request other means of submission to the organization.
Short films shortlisted must have been produced after January 2016 and have never been submitted to this festival in former editions.
