There is an important novelty in the next edition of Huesca International Film Festival: Huesca International Youth Festival joins up, it is organized by Huesca International Film Festival and the Manuel Giménez Abad Foundation with the cooperation of the Education, Culture and Sports Department of the Government of Aragón. This contest awards short films selected by the festivals that take part of the Youth Cinema Network Association whose objective is the promotion of cinema and human values, something which ties perfectly in with the spirit of the High Aragonese rendezvous regarding new audiences and the approach of the seventh art to young people.
Works submitted by the participant festivals of the aforementioned association (10 minutes maximum length) are produced by students aged 6 to 18 from primary and secondary schools from all over the world. These works must have been produced after January 1, 2017 by the students themselves though they can be supervised or coordinated by teachers. Their final aim must be the promotion of educational and civic values.
Once the selection has been completed, a masterclass shall be held by students of Human and Educational Sciences Faculty from Huesca Campus (University of Zaragoza); they will select the first winner of Huesca International Youth Film Prize, the award comprises an all-expenses-paid visit to the High Aragonese Festival for three days for one of the coordinators and two students. Afterwards, on Tuesday June 5, there will be two showings for school students where Huesca International Youth Film Prize of the Public will be decided. Both awards are sponsored by Manuel Giménez Abad Foundation with the cooperation of the Education, Culture and Sports Department of the Government of Aragón.
