TOGETHER WITH SAN JORGE UNIVERSITY, THE FESTIVAL ORGANIZES A ROUND TABLE ON FILM AND ADVACED TECHNOLOGIES NEXT TUESDAY, ON APRIL 25
The relationship between digital technologies and film narrative will be at the core of the round table organized by Huesca International Film Festival and San Jorge University and it will be held next Tuesday, April 25 at 19:00 in Room 2 of Joaquín Roncal Center in Zaragoza (5-7, San Braulio St). The meeting, open to the general public and free of charge, will count on the first class collaboration of Gonzo Suárez, one of the heads of Gamelab, the most important international congress on video games and interactive leisure entertainment in our country. Gonzo also stands out for being the creator of one of the video game sagas key to this sector in Spain: Commandos. Along with him, Joseba Bonaut, Audiovisual Communication PhD, and director and screenwriter Ignacio Lasierra, both specialists in Film Narrative and Aesthetics.
The discussion ‘The Cinematographic Screen Invaded by Digital Technologies’ moderated by Javier Hernández, Communication and Social Sciences Faculty Dean at San Jorge University, will focus on the opportunities and risks arising from this symbiosis between technology and the Seventh Art, focusing on the narrative framework; one of the most important elements when creating an audio visual work capable to connect to the audience. In this sense, new technologies have always found in the video game sector a symbiosis highly profitable to both parties and in this field Gonzo Suárez is one of the most accredited voices in our country. Having a close relationship with cinema from an early age, he got ahead as a programmer and obtained unanimous recognition within and beyond our borders with Commandos. This title from the end of the nineties revolutionized national market and opened an international door to this sector. Further on, his experience and trajectory made him take forward Gamelab, a congress held annually at the end of June in Barcelona that brings together some of the most important figures of interactive leisure industry that has become a national benchmark.
This round table is one of the first initiatives launched by Huesca International Festival and San Jorge University, a product of the collaboration agreement reached last year which has been extended to 2017. It will take place in Zaragoza as a result of the aim of Huesca festival to extend its activity beyond official dates and also to reach different audiences of the Autonomous Region and make them participate.
