Sylvia is a social worker who leads a simple, structured life: her daughter, her job and her Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. All of this is shattered when Saul follows her home from her high school reunion. Their surprise encounter will have a profound impact on both of them as it opens the door to the past.

The films he has written, directed, and produced include New Order (Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize, Venice Film Festival 2020) Chronic (Best Screenplay Award, Cannes Film Festival 2015), April’s Daughters (Jury Prize, Un Certain Regard, Cannes Film Festival 2017), and After Lucia (Top Prize, Un Certain Regard, Cannes Film Festival 2012). Among the films he has produced are 600 Millas (Best First Feature Award, Berlinale 2015) and From Afar (Golden Lion, Venice Film Festival 2015). His most recent film, Sundown, premiered at Venice in 2021.
