The Festival belongs to the city, it is not an exclusive event. That’s why, edition after edition, we reach out to senior centers and residences where people live for whom attending the general sessions in person is more challenging. They can thus enjoy the cinema and fully participate in “their” Festival.

Sveta Yuverova, Shad Lee Bradbury
Graduated from the Film Academy Baden-Wuerttemberg, Sveta has been working in the animation industry for 15 years. In her position as Animator, Animation Lead and Supervisor she worked on projects like Carnival Row, Watchmen, Star Trek Discovery, Lost in Space, The Swarm. Having recently completed Little Fan, she is now working on her first animation feature film. Shad Bradbury has worked as animator at studios like Pixar, Sony, Tippet, and Rhythm and Hues. Some of the known credits include, Lightyear, Coco, Finding Dory, Inside Out, Hotel Transylvania, and Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs 2.

Since the beginning of the 20th century, the Micheto pastry shop has been making the same sponge cake that dazzled King Alfonso XIII. Love and time have passed, as also have the conditions of the artisan business in Spain. The king’s cake hangs by a thread. Will this be the end of Alfonso XIII’s sponge cake?

Three nuns return by car from mass at a field chapel. On the way, the car punctures a tire in front of a grocery store. Aurelio and Ernesto, two old men drinking gin, help to change the tire. Once they finish their work, the three women insist that they return the favor in some way. Aurelio and Ernesto refuse, but finally they agree and ask for another bottle of gin. The nuns buy them the drink, unaware that they were victims of the two friends’ trap.
Gastón Calivari, Juan Follonier
Gastón is 31 years old and is from Nogoyá (Argentina). He made both fiction and documentary short films, mainly focused on themes and characters from his native province. His short films have had different tours at festivals around the world. He is currently developing his first feature film, El hombre de las plumas. Juan is 31 years old and is from San Salvador (Argentina). He has a degree in Audiovisual Production and Realization. His multiple cinematographic works are always crossed by the identity of the people. In 2020 he developed his latest documentary series work, Rosario Sonora.

He started working as a camera operator and video editor in news programs. After working in several positions related to media, he became a film director. At the same time, he also worked on film projects as a director and playwright, receiving several awards for his short films. He is currently working on his first feature film and distributing Migas (Crumbs), his latest documentary short film.

Sara has to make a documentary about Orain, a special education school. She needs to get the perfect images, but her attempts are frustrated by a series of crazy situations that bring her to the brink of a nervous breakdown. With the help of the kids, Sara learns the importance of living in the present.
Ainara Oto
Ainara, currently working at Filmin, started her career as a director with the documentary Ante Meridiem (2022). Before that, she has worked in other projects, such as El último pensionista, a short film that won the contest Navarra, Tierra de Cine in 2019. She has worked as a producer in the short film All In (2022), and in the film of the music festival Holika 2022. Her last work has been the short film Orain, in which she was the screenwriter and director.

With a degree in Hispanic Philology, he has written and produced the short movies Las Américas ‘84 (2021), Collecting (2022) and Senegal, a round trip dream (2023). He has participated in more than 60 international film festivals and have won 11 awards. Now he presents his new work Please (2024).

Where are you from? combines 3D animation and music creating an immersive cinematic journey, effectively conveying the urgency of addressing environmental disasters and their consequences through realism and fantasy. In just 2 and a half minutes, it aims to captivate the audience’s attention and encourage them to rethink their relationship with the natural world while offering hope for future generations.
Juan Cristiani
Uruguayan artist with a background in Sound Engineering and Music Production from SAE New York, graduating in Cinematography and Digital Cinema from NYU. In 2019, his animation Dancing in the Rain was featured at Comic Con in San Diego as part of the Los Angeles International Children’s Film Festival. In 2020, he composed “Survivors”, a song in collaboration with internationally recognized artists. In 2023, he premiered his new animated short film about environmental care titled Where are you from?. To date, it has been selected in over 70 festivals, winning 18 of them.
