By GAIZKA URRESTI, director, producer and president of APROAR (Association of Independent Audiovisual Producers of Aragon).
Sponsored by Aragón TV.
In the world of European cinema, public funding plays an indispensable role. In recent years, direct government subsidies have been complemented by tax incentives, which can be combined to finance film projects.
Introduced in 2021, a new mechanism was incorporated into the Spanish Corporate Income Tax Act to facilitate private investment, offering a simpler alternative to the loan agreement.
In this masterclass, renowned filmmaker and producer Gaizka Urresti will guide fellow producers, who have yet to utilize this mechanism, through the key steps to successfully leverage it in their project financing endeavors.
