Zinentiendo is an international film showcase of LGTBQI (lesbian, gay, transsexual, bisexual, queer and intersexual) cinema organized by the Towanda Collective. Dedicated for years to advocating for diversity in sexual orientation and gender identity, its main objective is to make this reality visible through the universal language of cinema.
Cinema is a perfect communication channel to show different forms of resistance and fight against LGTB-phobia, patriarchy, sexism, and heteronormativity; It also supports movements like transfeminism and celebrates the diversity of emotions, desires, and sexualities.

15 years ago Carolina came out of the closet, one of the hardest moments of her life. Despite the fact that she lives her life normally, her cousin Paloma does not fully understand why Carolina still has that wound, when she has parents who love her and currently support her. The two have suffered a very big rejection in their lives that brings them closer but, at the same time, separates them.
Mar Martínez
After studying Journalism (UCM and Paris 8) and the Master’s in Creative Writing (UCM), she starts working as a screenwriter. Since then, she has trained as a screenwriter in the master’s programs at The Mediapro Studio/UCM, URJC, and with the Screenwriting Degree at the Madrid Film Institute. She worked on the series UPA Next (Atresplayer) as a trainee screenwriter. Some of her projects include the webseries La Bolloneta (writer and director) and the short films Fat Alien and Time Flies (writer and director).

Lady Casca, a drag queen in her sixties, is about to go on stage for the last time at the cabaret that she created. The following day, a retirement by the sea awaits her. But her son Thomas, whom she hasn’t seen in a long time, interrupts the festivities. He has some sad news to tell her.
Hippolyte Leibovici
Franco-Belgian film director. His relationship with cinema began at the age of 13 when he would often hand out coffee on film sets in Paris. At the age of 18, he began studying film directing at Belgian film school INSAS. His first success was Mother’s, which won close to 40 festival awards and the very first Magritte for Best Short Documentary. In 2023, he directed Beyond the Sea, a musical comedy that joins the arena of his previous film: the backstage of a cabaret. He is currently developing his first feature film.

Marc, after reading several hate messages for a gay dating app, receives a message from his friend Cacao inviting him to a Ballroom. There he will discover an environment of freedom and diversity, which will make him change his perception of himself.
Cristian Sitjas
Film director from Barcelona. He has directed short films and music videos with international distribution. He worked at the feminist erotic film production company Erika Lust, where he directed the short film Catboy. Cristian explores the limits of the human being regarding pleasure, pain, sadness or the seek for an escape, all in scenarios that break with what we know as normative.
