Ava is a teenager who takes the subway to go to school. When María calls her to ask her about her day, her daughter’s mobile phone is turned off. Ava never made it to school that morning. Someone had intercepted her on the subway.
MABEL LOZANO
Writer and director since 2006, she launched Mafalda Entertainment to develope her projects commited with the Human Rights and the women. The feature-length documentaries Voces contra la trata (2007), Las sabias de la tribu (2010) and Chicas Nuevas 24 Horas, nominated to the Goya Award 2016 for Best Documentary Film and nominated to Platino Award for Best Iberoamerican Film, stand out among many other works. In 2017, she published her first book, El proxeneta, about the men behind the prostitution in Spain, which turns into a documentary film with the same title in 2018. Biografía del cadáver de una mujer (2020) is another step towards denouncing prostitution, and it won the Goya Award for Best Documentary Short Film. Ava is her latest short film.

After 50 years in theatre, film and television, Carme Elias is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. Together with Claudia Pinto, a director and friend, they decide to record her last conscious voyage. The characters played by Carme accompany this difficult period, while the borders between fiction and reality disappear.
CLAUDIA PINTO
Filmmaker with a background in Communication Studies, holding a Master’s degree in Film Screenwriting, a Master’s degree in Television Screenwriting, and a Doctorate in Photography and New Audiovisual Media. With her debut feature film, La distancia más larga, she gained recognition from festivals, the film industry, and the audience. Her second feature film, Las consecuencias, won the Eurimages Award and the Cannes/Marché du Film Award at Ventana Sur. Las consecuencias premiered in Spain at the Malaga Film Festival, where it received the Best Film award from the Critics’ Jury and the award for Best Debut Actress for María Romanillos. Since 2006, Claudia has balanced her filmmaking career with directing television series. Her latest series, Beguinas, is a prime-time production for Atresmedia. As Long as It’s You is her third feature film, premiered at the San Sebatián Film Festival. Currently, Claudia is preparing a fiction film titled Dying Doesn’t Always Go Well.
