50 YEARS, 50 POSTERS
From June 7 to July 3 · CCMBM
Centro Cultural Manuel Benito Moliner. Avda. Martínez de Velasco, s/n.
From Monday to Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
From its beginnings in April 1973 to the present 2022, the year in which we will celebrate its 50th anniversary, the poster of the Huesca International Film Festival has had enormous importance for its organizing teams.
This exhibition is not a simple collection of posters: it is a compilation of true collector’s pieces. Just as each year’s festival becomes a still photo of the melting pot, the forms and the contents of the audiovisual world, this exhibition represents a sample of formats, techniques and trends within the world of illustration and international design. It is also a temporary journey through pieces that are not only promotion tools to announce each edition, but actual works of art.
If the collection has a life of its own, it is largely thanks to the contributions of Jesús Moreno and Isidro Ferrer, outstanding curators and advisors for the selection of artists in many of the editions. The graphic development of these posters for the different formats that articulate the festival’s communication -such as catalogues, programs and other graphic and audiovisual supports- has been in the hands of David Adiego, Carmen Laín and La Colmena Creativa in recent years, and has built a comprehensive unique identity of the Festival, through the sum of each of the editions, always marked by a main piece: the poster.
