THE FESTIVAL STRENGTHENS ITS COMMITMENT TO BE LAUNCHING PAD FOR NEW TALENTS WITH 32 DEBUT WORKS
INTERNATIONAL CONTEST IS CONFORMED BY 32 SHORT FILMS, LATIN AMERICAN BY 31 AND DOCUMENTARY BY 19
A total of 82 short films have been shortlisted to participate in 43rd Huesca International Film Festival consisting, once again, of three contests: international contest with 32 short films, Latin American with 31 and documentary with 19. Twenty nine countries from Europe, America, Asia and Africa are represented by the works, which combine young talents with acclaimed names as Spanish director Gracia Querejeta. The festival will screen 32 debut films, thus confirming itself as showcase of new talents. From 13th to 20th June, Huesca will again become the world capital of short film, selecting two titles for the Oscar Award Shorlisting in the category of Best Short Fiction Film.
Spain is the country with the highest number of competing short films, a total of 15, followed by Germany with 9, France with 6 and Mexico with 5. It is to be noted the selection of works coming from least-known filmographies like the Lebanese, the Iraqi or the Bulgarian one.
