Andreas was born in 1963 in Gera, Germany. In the early 80s, he began working in theatre and making short films. He studied directing at the HFF “Konrad Wolf ” Potsdam-Babelsberg. Since 1992, he has been working as a writer and director for film and TV. He is one of Germany’s most admired young directors with diverse and award-winning features such as Summer in Berlin, Grill Point and Night Shapes. His previous feature, Summer in Berlin, was awarded Best Screenplay at the San Sebastian Film Festival and Best Actress at the Chicago Festival. Grill Point won the Silver Bear – Grand Jury Prize at the Berlin Film Festival, as well as Best Director at the Chicago Festival. Night Shapes won Best Actor at the Berlin Film Festival and the Best New Director award at Valladolid. He recently finished principal photography on his next feature Whiskey with Vodka. Trudi is the only one who knows that her husband is terminally ill with cancer. When his doctor suggests that the couple undertake one last trip together, Trudi persuades her husband to accompany her to visit her children and grandchildren in Berlin. However, their family are far too wrapped up in their own lives to take care of the couple. After a theatre trip to see a Butoh dance performance, Trudi and Rudi decide to go and stay at a hotel on the Baltic coast. And then, out of the blue, Trudi dies. Rudi is completely at a loss. He has no idea what to do with his life, until he decides to go to Japan to visit their youngest son, Karl.
Born in Hanover in 1955, she studied acting and film at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, and philosophy and psychology in New York. From 1975-78 she studied at the College of Television and Film in Munich, where she later lectured. After several TV films, she made her first feature film 1983. She enjoyed outstanding success with her 1985 film, Männer. A well-known author of novels, short stories and children’s books, in 2001 and 2003 respectively she directed productions of “Cosi fan tutte“, and “Turandot“ for the Berliner Staatsoper. A grieving couple retreat to ’Eden’, their isolated cabin in the woods, where they hope to repair their broken hearts and troubled marriage. But nature takes its course and things go from bad to worse…
Born in Copenhagen in 1956 and familiar with film media since he was thirteen, at twenty he entered the Danske Filmsköle, where he made several short films. Until now he had directed a dozen films, among which Breaking the waves, Idioterne and Dancer in the Dark have been acclaimed and awarded in many festivals. He is a member of the cinematographic group “Dogma”. Among his films we could mention Europa (1991); Breaking the Waves (1996); Idioterne (1998); Dancer in the Dark (2000). Dogville (2003), Manderlay (2005) and Direktoren for det hele (2006). He has just premiered in Cannes his latest film Antichrist (2009).

The big city. The perfect habitat for hustlers, swindlers, thieves, murderers, and corrupt policemen. Abel, a lonely guy specialised in collecting debts through expeditious methods. Kay, a juvenile female offender who makes a living stealing cars. Her father Sebas, a receiver of stolen goods with a special knack for getting into jams. Garro of the anti-robbery team, a detective of doubtful integrity. All of them fed up with it all and dreaming of the final big job…
He was the co-writer, together with Eduard R. Bosch, of El viaje de Arián (2001), starring Silvia Munt, Ingrid Rubio and Abel Folk; and he also wrote the script for Trastorno (2006), directed by Fernando Cámara. In 2004 he wrote and directed his first short-film, Mus, which was awarded many prizes, among which we could mention the award to Best New Director in Soria Festival; the Prize of the Audience in Aguilar de Campoo Film Festival and also the Prize of the Audience in Pamplona Festival and in Basque Cinema Festival. Lala, a teenager from the most exclusive suburban neighbourhood in Buenos Aires is in love with the Guayi, the 20-year-old Payaguayan maid working at her place. They dream of living together in Paraguay, at the shores of lake Ypoá. The murder of Lala’s father rushes their plans. This is the starting point that spurs the escape through the highway that connects the North of Buenos Aires with Paraguay. While Lala waits to be reunited with her lover in Ypoá by reconstructing her past (the mystery surrounding her pregnancy and the legend of a fish child who guides the drowned to the bottom of the lake), the Guayi is detained in a minors institute. She turns out to be hiding a crime from long ago.
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1976. She published the novels El Niño Pez (2004), 9 minutos (2005) and La Maldición de Jacinta Pichimahuida (2007). El Niño Pez has just been published in Germany, Italy, USA and Brazil. XXY (2007), her first feature length film, won the Critics Week Award in Cannes 2007 and a Goya to the Best Foreign Film, among many other prizes for the best film and audience awards in film festivals all around the world. Fausta is ill with a disease contracted from her mother’s breast milk known as “the milk of sorrow”. This is a condition that only affects those women in Peru who were abused or raped during the years of terrorist struggle. Although this horrific period is now history, Fausta is nonetheless a living reminder of this time. Her sickness is called fear – and it has robbed her of her soul. But then, when her mother suddenly dies, Fausta is forced to face her fears. However, her mother’s death unleashes unexpected events that change Fausta’s life dramatically, as well as the lives of others involved. Fausta now sets out on a journey – a journey that will lead her out of her fear and into freedom.
Born in 1976 in Lima where she studied Communications. From 1998-2001 she studied film and television at the Escuela Superior de Artes y Espectáculos TAI in Madrid, graduating in screenwriting. Beginning her career in Peru in advertising and in television, she then founded her own production company, Vela Films. In 2004 she directed her first short film Seeing Martina. Made in 2006, her first feature film, Madeinusa, won numerous awards at international film festivals. La Teta Asustada is her second film.

Back then, when the Rolling Stones sang Lady Jane, Muriel, François and René were busy distributing stolen fur coats among the inhabitants of a working class district in Marseille where the three friends lived and shared their childhood. Having killed a jeweller in a parking lot during a robbery, they decided not to meet any more in order to let the dust settle and forget the whole terrible affair. One day Muriel’s son is kidnapped. The trio reunite. Somehow, there has to be a way of finding the ransom money …
Born in Marseilles in 1953, he studied Sociology in Paris. A writer, director and producer, he is one of the founders of Agat Films & Cie and Ex Nihilo, film production companies of many French filmmakers and through which he has financed his own films and documentaries for television. Abel and Junon had two children, Joseph and Elizabeth. Victim of a rare genetic condition, Joseph's only hope was a bone marrow transplant. As they and Elizabeth were incompatible, his parents conceived a third child in the hope of saving their son. But little Henri too was unable to help his brother, and Joseph died at the age of seven. The Vuillard family has never recovered. Many years have passed, and family relationships are more strained than ever. In particular, those between Elizabeth, authoritarian head of the family and Henri, a cynical drop out who divides his time between women and drink.
Born in Roubaix (France) in 1960. A graduate from the IDHEC in film directing and photography, he stared working as a director of photography. In 1991 he shot a medium length film, La vie des morts, and after that the feature films La sentinelle (1992), Comment je me suis disputé... (ma vie sexuelle) (1996), Esther Kahn (2000), Léo, en jouant "Dans la compagnie des hommes" (2003), Rois et reine (2004) and L'Aimée (2007). Un conte de Noël (2008) is his latest film so far.

One night at a bar, an old friend tells Ari about a recurring nightmare in which he is chased by 26 vicious dogs. Every night, the same number of beasts. The two men conclude that there’s a connection to their Israeli Army mission in the first Lebanon War of the early eighties. Ari is surprised that he can’t remember a thing anymore about that period of his life. Intrigued by this riddle, he decides to meet and interview old friends and comrades around the world. He needs to discover the truth about that time and about himself. As Ari delves deeper and deeper into the mystery, his memory begins to creep up in surreal images…
In the mid 1980s, after completing his military service, Ari Folman ventured out on his dream trip to circle the world, but soon realized that was not for him. He returned home and study cinema. His graduate film, Comfortably Numb (1991) a comical and absurd view of the first Gulf war, won the Israeli Academy award for Best Documentary. Between 1991–1996 Ari directed documentary specials for TV, mainly in the occupied territories. In 1996 he wrote and directed Saint Clara, a feature film based on a novel by Czech author Pavel Kohout. The film won seven Israeli Academy awards, including Best Director and Best Film, and opened the Berlin Film Festival’s Panorama and won the People’s Choice Award. Ari continued directing successful documentary and TV series and took time off for his second feature in 2001, Made in Israel. The animation documentary Vals im Bashir is his third full length film.

In Rome, at dawn, when everyone is asleep, there’s one man who isn’t sleeping. That man is called Giulio Andreotti. He isn’t sleeping because he has to work, write books, be a socialite, and, last but not least, pray. Calm, ambiguous, inscrutable, Andreotti is synonym of power in Italy for over four decades. At the beginning of the nineties, without arrogance or humility, immobile, ambiguous and reassuring, he advances relentlessly towards his seventh mandate as Prime Minister.
Born in Naples, Italy in 1970. In 1994 he wrote and directed his first short film entitled Un Paradiso, finalist in Palermo Film festival in 1995. Two years later he co-wrote together with Antonio Capuano, the film Polvere di Napoli, directed by Capuano with Silvio Orlando. In 1997 he won the award Solinas for a film script entitled Napoletani and in 1998 he co-wrote with Humberto Contarello the film La Voce dell´Amore. That same year he wrote and directed the short film L´amore non ha Confini, produced by Indigo Film. This short film competed at Torino Film Festival among others and won several awards such as the Best Short Film in the Fifth Edition of Shortcircuit Festival. He wrote several episodes of La Squadra for Italian Television, until he entered in the world of feature film. His filmography includes L'uomo in più (2001), La notte lunga (2001), Le conseguenze del amore (2004), L'amico di famiglia (2006) and Il divo (2008).

Madrid in 1922 is a city wavering on the edge of change as traditional values are challenged by the dangerous new influences of jazz, Freud and the avant-garde. Salvador Dalí arrives at university at the age of 18 years old, determined to become a great artist. His bizarre blend of shyness and rampant exhibitionism attracts the attention of two of the university’s social elite — Federico García Lorca and Luis Buñuel.
Born in London in 1944, he has a distinguished track record as a filmmaker. His first feature film, Solomon and Gaenor (1999), was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and his second effort, Wondrous Oblivion (2003), was released widely across the U.K. to much critical acclaim and awards, including the audience award for best feature film at the Boston Jewish Film Festival. His other work as a director for television includes Unstable Elements (1988) From Bitter Earth (1989), Without Walls: The Night Show – A Midsummer Night’s Scream (1994), Degas and Pissaro Fall Out (1994). Little Ashes (2008) is his latest film so far.

Rille (16) is ostracized and bullied everywhere except in the ping pong room. There he rules - he is the king of ping pong. His brother Erik (13) is charming, respected and loved by all. Despite the profound difference between them, they share the same blood - at least that is what they both believe. When they learn the truth about their father during their spring break, they become bitter adversaries engaged in a life and death struggle.
Born in 1974 in Umeå, Sweden. He studied graphic design between 1994 and 1998 and film directing between 1998 and 2001 at the Dramatiska Institutet in Stockholm. In a relatively short time, he wrote and directed many short films (including Brother of Mine, for which he received the Silver Bear in Berlin). He is also a very popular maker of commercials, for instance for Absolut Vodka. In the last decade, he has been exceptionally productive in short film, including the 2003 masterpieces Utvecklingssamtal and A Changed Man, which was made in England. Ping-Pongkingen (2008) is first feature film.
