It is an introduction to Lav Diaz’s most important feature film, The Great Disaparecido, which questions the truth and history about the revolution and independence of the Philippines. On August 21, 1896, the Revolution broke out in the Philippines led by Andrés Bonifacio. On May 9, 1897, Boniface was condemned to death by rival revolutionaries led by Emilio Aguinaldo. Bonifacio’s body has never been found.
