Collaboration agreement between the Huesca Film Festival and the Aragonese Radio and Television Corporation
A meeting was held this morning in Zaragoza between the President of the Huesca Film Festival Foundation, Domingo Malo, the Director of the Huesca Film Festival, Ángel Garcés, and the General Director of the Aragonese Radio and Television Corporation, Mr. Ramón Tejedor. The purpose of this meeting was to renew the collaboration agreement between the Huesca Film Festival and the Aragonese Radio and Televison Corporation. The meeting was held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere between both institutions with the specific aim of promoting the 37th edition of the Huesca Film Festival. |
The EICTV from San Antonio de los Baños, first Award Pepe Escriche
Based on Pepe Escriche’s character and ideology, the concept behind this award is the recognition of efforts devoted to understanding among different cultures through cinema, and will be given to entities, institutions, people or different events related to cinema and audiovisual arts. On 28th April 2009, Huesca Film Festival Foundation members, Angel Garcés, Montserrat Guiu, Begoña Gutiérrez, Alberto Sánchez, Lázaro Venéreo and its president Domingo Malo held a meeting and UNANIMOUSLY decided to give the Award Pepe Escriche 2009 to the INTERNATIONAL FILM AND TELEVISION SCHOOL “SAN ANTONIO DE LOS BAÑOS” in Havana, Cuba, for its constant work and enormous efforts to favour the dialogue between very different cinematographies. Our Foundation recognizes the excellence of the work carried out by the School from its very start with the so-called New Latin American Cinema. Besides, this award pays a tribute to a school of artistic education which has put into practice a particular philosophy: the teaching of film not by professional teachers but from active filmmakers, able to pass on their knowledge backed up by practice and experience in constant updating.
