With a Bachelor degree in Information Sciences from the Complutense University in Madrid and with a degree in film production from the ECAM. Master of Creative Documentary from the University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. She has worked in the development and production of fiction and documentary projects, as well as in artistic, exhibitional and museum projects. Co-director of the documentary film Madrid 11M: Todos íbamos en ese tren and of Polifonía. She has been a member of the selection committee of International Documentary Festival Documenta Madrid. As a teacher she has dictated courses and seminars in several universities and private schools related to documentary and since last year she is in charge of the area of practices at the School of Film and Audiovisual of the Community of Madrid.
Born in 1971, and holder of a degree in Film Studies, He began his career as a director in 1996 with Only to the world. He would be then Assistant Press attaché to Ciné-Sud Promotion, then he will set up, in 1999, the department of production of Short films. In 1999, he joins Sombrero Productions, production company of short films at the origin of Miss Butterfly by Julie Lopes-Curval (Critics Week 2001) and After the Childhood by Thomas Lilti (Directors Fortnight 2002). In 2002, he created «Les Films Sauvages» where he produced about 30 shorts, from fiction to experimental formats (A Woman alone a 24 minutes documentary, Prize of the Jury in Clermont-Ferrand 2005, Paul, an 8 minutes animated documentary, Youth Prize Huesca 2006). He produced or co-produced also four feature films, among them, Insurrection / Resurrection (2004), and The Absence (2009), and distributed full-length documentaries in theatres: Taboos, Zohre & Manouchehr (2005), and Oliva, Oliva (2006). The philosophy of the company is to try to follow authors inspirations and involving when they join ours, more than following an eventual trend of movies.
With studies in Art History, History of Ideas and Sociology, he is one of the founders of the Umeå International Film Festival in Sweden (1986-2007) and since 1996 its Artistic Director. "We started the festival because of the frustration that so many good films never reached any distribution in the cinemas". He was the President of the European Coordination of Film Festivals (ECFF) between 2002-2004 and for a second period 2006-2007. He has been invited as a jury member to numerous film Festivals, notably in Berlin, Sofia, Regensburg, Dresden, Cottbus, Aix-en-Provence, Poznan, Bratislava, Hamburg, Tampere and Puchon (Korea). Member of the pre-selection committee for the Swedish National Film Prize for Shorts & Documentaries (Golden Bug) 2003-2007. He is a voting member of the European Film Academy. In order to help talented young filmmakers from the North of Sweden he started his own distribution company: Botnia Film. Currently he’s working as a curator for some festivals and, parallel to that, working as a producer and developing projects within the field of the cinema. His first co-production, In the Theme (director Olga Popova, Russia) was selected and awarded at the Berlinale Shorts 2008.
Born in Barcelona in 1955, where she lives and works for La2 television channel. A bachelor of Information Sciences, Journalism, (Autonomous University of Barcelona, 1978) and a Doctor in Political Sciences and Constitutional Law (Barcelona University, 2000). She co-founded the documentary programme Gran Angular in which she works as a director and producer in 25 minutes and 55 minutes formats. At present she is a member of the team of the TV programme El escarabajo verde as the director of 25 minutes documentaries. She has worked as an international political editor in newspapers (La Vanguardia and El Observador) and in TVE news department. She has been news editor at BTV (Barcelona Televisió). She has also been responsible of production for NHK (Japanese Public Television) and ABC (Australian Public Television). She was awarded the prize of Social Welfare given by Barcelona Town Council to the best audiovisual project made in 2002 with her documentary Buscando a Sandra and has been selected in several film festivals, among them the Film Festival “Cine de Dones” (Women’s Cinema) in June 2003, where she was screened the film Pensar la Libertad. That same year she was selected at FIPA with the documentary film Contra la Ablación.
Born in Barcelona in 1969, he started making short films in Super-8 (1985-1988), he studied Film Directing at the CEEC (1988) and specialized in Image at the ESCAC (1988-1990) in Barcelona. Since 1990 he has worked as a camera operator and director of photography in television series, documentary films, commercials and short films. Likewise between 1995-96 he worked as an assistant director in several film projects. As a director, he has worked in different fields (audiovisual, institutional videos, commercials and short films). In the last years he focused in several documentary projects. Lately he has dictated some documentary workshops in several specialized festivals, such as Docupolis in Santiago de Chile 08, Docs df08 in Mexico City and Diba Fest in Barcelona. He has made many short films and documentary features, among which we could mention: Gi-Sra (El camino de Agua) (1998), Los Hermanos Oligor (2004), Utopia 79 (2006-7), the latter two selected and awarded in numerous festivals, Sunday at five (2007) and Amb ulls de nena (2008).
